- Chornobyl Polissia. Dark Paradise unique light performance
On April 25, at 12:00, Dark Paradise — a unique online exhibition about the life of Chornobyl Polissia — will open on the website of Ukrainian House National Center (https://uadim.in.ua/). The project presents more than 12 different art and research works related to the life of the people of Chornobyl Polissia. The organizing team will present art videos, installations, archival photos, paintings, illustrations of expedition's work and audio recordings of interviews with residents, portraits and stories of the inhabitants of these territories, traditions of beekeeping and bortnystvo, as well as other creative reflections created by joint efforts of artists and ethnographers.
DARK PARADISE exhibition will show what has been happening in the exclusion zone over the past 35 years after the devastation and destruction of this place by the Chornobyl power plant accident. After all, abandoned lands have revived and carry their own unique code. Viewers from different parts of Ukraine and the world will be able to feel the energy of life of Chornobyl region of the past and present, rethinking the bitter page of the tragedy.
And in the evening of April 25, Chornobyl Polissia. Dark Paradise spectacular light performance will be given on the facade of Ukrainian House National Center on the Yevropeyska Square, time of performance — 20:00 to 22:00 hours.
You will be able to see the performance live, walking around the city from anywhere in the Yevropeyska Square, while remaining safe and observing all quarantine restrictions. The organizers will also make video documentation of the performance so that everyone can see it as part of the online exhibition on other days.
